Early Heart Attack Care
When it comes to heart attacks, it's important to learn the early signs and symptoms, share that information with others and pledge to be aware of these things and call 911 if you or someone you know else is experiencing these symptoms. According to the Society of Chest Pain Centers, these early symptoms occur in more than 50% of patients and if caught early, the heart attack can be treated before the heart is actually damaged.
Early heart attack symptoms can include:
- Nausea
- Feeling of fullness
- Shortness of breath
- Back pain
- Chest pressure, squeezing or discomfort
- Anxiety
- Fatigue
- Jaw pain
- Pain that travels down one or both arms
People can experience mild chest symptoms, such as pressure, burning, aching or tightness, and they could come and go until escalating to become constant and/or severe.
