What is cardiovascular rehabilitation?
The Navarro Regional Hospital cardiovascular rehabilitation program serves the needs of patients who have suffered heart attacks, stable angina, heart failure, heart valve repair or replacement, or peripheral arterial disease (PAD), as well as patients post-coronary angioplasty, stenting or coronary bypass surgery. The cardiovascular rehabilitation program seeks to improve endurance and strength with exercise, improve weight control with nutritional counseling and education and enhance the self-image of each patient. Participants meet three times a week for 12 weeks. Each session lasts approximately one hour.

- An initial interview with the cardiac rehabilitation nurse specialist who will carefully evaluate your needs and recommend an individualized program
- Supervised, monitored sessions with cardiac telemetry
- Patient and family education regarding lifestyle changes

The cardiovascular rehabilitation program is designed to help patients recover from heart attacks, angina, PAD and cardiac surgeries. The experienced team of health professionals at Navarro Regional Hospital includes nurses, a cardiologist, a dietitian, a diabetes educator and technicians who have experience in cardiac rehabilitation. All of our team members have completed CPR and advanced cardiac life support training.
We tailor your exercise program to meet your individual needs. Your heart rate and blood pressure will be monitored closely during the exercise program to help ensure a desirable cardiovascular response.
