Drive collects 1,226 jars for Compassion Corsicana Food Pantry
Access to nutritious food can significantly impact an individual’s overall health and well-being. The North Texas Food Bank estimates that nearly 15% percent of the residents in our community are living in a food-insecure home. Peanut butter is high in nutritional value and has a long shelf life, making it a much-needed item for food banks.
That’s why Navarro Regional Hospital joined with other CHS-affiliated hospitals for the second annual Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive. Across CHS-affiliated entities, the goal is to collect at least 130,000 jars of peanut butter.
The employee-driven peanut butter campaign was held March 4-25th. The staff at Navarro Regional Hospital and affiliated provider clinics donated 1,226 jars of peanut butter and other nut butters. “Team Navarro accepted the donation challenge, showing that our compassion extends outside the walls of our buildings and into the community. I am extremely proud of our team,” said John Manolakis, CEO of Navarro Regional Hospital.
The Jars of Love drive coincides with National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day on April 2.
